Mommy's Day 2014

Well 2014 was my first Mother's Day with this little guy outside of the womb. This time last year, we were telling our families and friends about our baby's arrival.  What a difference a year makes!!  Now he's here and growing so fast!!  Casey and Caden outdid themselves I must say!!  I didn't really want anything big, just some quality time with my boys, especially my little guy.  They ended up making me a card and what a card it is!  I got a card full of pictures of my sweet Caden!  It's absolutely perfect and something I will treasure always!!!
Since it wasn't just Mother's Day for me, we were blessed to live in the same area as both of our parents and spend time with them too.  For lunch, we took Casey's Mom to a local Mexican restaurant.  The thought process of going here was that it wouldn't be super crowded and therefore not a forever long wait (a must now with a little one).  While it wasn't super crowded, there was another factor that we didn't think to include, the LIVE mariachi band!  Since the place isn't super big and one big room, it was VERY loud!  We couldn't hear one another talk (which is the main point of getting together right?!) and trying to order was an adventure too.   Thanks to Caden's wonderful Aunt Taci, who made quite a great dancing pair at the restaurant, she got this little guy to fall asleep while the mariachi band played.  Once we got home, little guy was not interested in napping some more.  I looked at Casey and said it was my day, so I was going to take a nap.  Since my birthday is probably the only other day I could use this excuse, I took full advantage of it!
The nap was wonderful, then it was off to church and then celebrate with my mother.  This time we went to Saltgrass.  This restaurant was crowded too and quite loud.  Lesson learned from the Hixon's for next Mother's Day: cook at our own house for our Mama's!  Hope all the Mommy's had a wonderful day!!
