Bluebonnet Pictures and Caden's 1st Easter

Even though I love looking at everyone's bluebonnet pictures, I was never big into taking them myself.  That is, until I had a baby.  It seems to me now something equivalent to a picture in front of the Christmas tree, you know some thing that  must be done.  Two weekends ago that is exactly what we did!  We brought Casey's Mom (aka Grandma) along for the field trip too and combined it with some hang out time with one of Casey's best friends and his family.  We met in Brenham at this really cute diner at the Brenham airport (not a typical location for such a place).  The waitresses wear poodle skirts and everything.  Very neat!!  Food is tasty too, which was evident by the large crowd there!  After lunch, it was on to some blue bonnets.       We journeyed to the ruins of the original Baylor University in Independence thinking there would be some there.  While a very nice place to visit with beautiful scenery, there wasn't a large field of only bluebonnets.  There were beautiful wild flowers though, so definitely worth the trip.  I noticed at lunch that there were some good blue bonnets by a pond at the diner, but thought there would be some at our next stop, so no need to take pictures there.  Since there weren't any in Independence, we stopped back by the diner and took pictures there with the little guy, who enjoyed looking at them too!!

Caden's first Easter was a major success!!  My Mom (aka Mitt) worked very hard and spent many hours making the liner for Caden's Easter basket.  My intention was for us to do it together, which we did, but she did 95% of the work while I watched a certain little one.  The final product was wonderful!!  Best part is that it was hand-made, which makes it extra special.  We went over to Casey's parents house on Saturday evening, where we all received our Easter baskets and had a delicious meal!  Sunday we went to church with Casey's Mom, where she helped teach his Bible class (so sweet!).
We gave Caden his Easter basket, which was a little tricky to fill, since the kid doesn't eat anything nor is he mobile to get the eggs himself.  I managed to get him a book about the meaning of Easter and a couple toys (Thank you dollar section at Target!).  There are eggs in his basket, but I'll be honest in that they're empty and were just in there so he'd have some eggs.  This cutie looked pretty adorable in his Easter outfit.  Hopefully we'll get some good wear out of it, though we're in that awkward stage where some 3 months clothes are starting to get a little snug, but 6 months are too big.  Too bad his Daddy felt bad the entire weekend with a nasty sinus infection, but looks like he is on the mend now!!  On the up side, one of the sweetest sounds has got to be listening to my nasally congested husband sing "Jesus Loves Me" to our son:)
